common questions

how does the ai grading work?

when your child says a letter, the recording is sent to an open-source quranic-arabic speech-recognition model. it returns what it heard, and rawdah scores that against the expected letter. confidence thresholds are tunable per parent (patient, standard, strict). recordings aren't stored by the service after grading.

my child says the right letter but rawdah keeps marking it wrong

try lowering the leniency setting under parent dashboard > settings (patient is the most forgiving). the model was trained on adult arabic, so very young children sometimes confuse it on throat letters like 'ع' or 'ح'. we're working on collecting child voice samples to improve this over time.

can my child use rawdah offline?

meet, trace, the garden, and most lessons work offline. the 'say' beat needs a connection because the speech recognition runs in the cloud. teacher assignments sync the next time the device is online.

are the qari recordings done by a real reciter?

we're currently shipping with high-quality ai-generated arabic audio while we onboard a verified qari for the final recordings. when the real recordings ship, the in-app audio updates automatically — no app update required.

how do i join a teacher's classroom?

get the 6-to-8 character join code from your teacher (looks like MRH-K4D2). in the parent dashboard, go to classrooms > enter join code. your child will see the teacher's assignments on their home screen the next time they open the app.

where are my child's recordings stored?

on your device by default, in the app's private sandbox. they're sent briefly to the speech-recognition service for grading and then discarded by that service. we don't upload them to our servers unless you explicitly opt in to a sharing feature.

how do i cancel my subscription?

subscriptions are billed by apple. open the settings app on your iphone > tap your name at the top > subscriptions > rawdah > cancel. your access continues until the end of the billing period.

can multiple kids share one subscription?

yes. one subscription covers up to four child profiles in the same family account. add siblings from parent dashboard > children > add a sibling.

how do i delete my account?

parent dashboard > account > delete account. this removes all child profiles and cloud data within 30 days. local data on your device is deleted as soon as you uninstall the app.
